Locally Sourced

We hear this mostly from our locally owned and independently operated restaurants regarding their food supply. However, the shift to locally sourced design is here and now. As part of our practice, we continually source locally, especially for furnishings, lighting, decorative accessories, vintage art, and case goods. Using reclaimed wood is another approach we employ for specific decorative finishes in our mountain homes.

The utter chaos regarding tariffs has been turning the world economy on edge in recent weeks. Importing anything is risky and uncertain, with added costs looming. Not to mention all that can go awry in the global supply chain, including ocean transport, customs, regional delivery, and the bureaucracy and carbon footprint associated with it.

There is a vast secondary market for furnishings right here where we live—some of it in pristine condition. We are constantly scouring for unique vintage pieces to incorporate into our projects. Over the years, we have built a network of dealers with whom we work to find the perfect piece. Sometimes, they will give us access to extraordinary pieces even before they hit the market. Additionally, we have a coterie of skilled tradespeople who can refresh, rebuild, and repurpose pieces to our specifications.

Here is a list of our favorite vendors who are open to the public. You will find high-caliber, one-of-a-kind pieces to incorporate into your space. Please let us know if you find a great piece that needs modification, such as new upholstery or refinishing. We are happy to connect you with the right tradesperson.

You cannot go wrong with your meal or the table you dine on, sourced locally.
